You’re doing everything right including eating healthy, watching your calories and exercising, yet you still can’t see your abs.  Don’t worry as you’re not alone.  This happens to many dieters and there is always a good reason.  Let’s take a look at a few of the more popular reasons and learn how to get abs and lose fat the easy way

Make lifestyle changes and not diet changes
If you really want to lose weight and see those abs you must commit to lifestyle changes, not temporary diet changes.  Forget about the latest fad diets or diets that restrict certain food groups.  Instead, gradually introduce healthy foods into your diet, become calorie conscious, incorporate low calorie snacks and find an exercise program that you think you can stick with.  If you want to lose weight and keep it off then slow and steady wins the race.

Realize how much you’re actually eating
Numerous studies have shown that people grossly underestimate the amount of calories they eat every day!  By at least a thousand!  Since losing fat comes down to calories in versus calories out, you need to educate yourself on the amount of calories in the foods you eat to make sure you’re not consuming too many.  Try making a meal plan that meets your caloric needs and use that as a template for all your meals.  That doesn’t mean you have to eat the same foods every day, just make substitutions and keep portion sizes the same.

Stay the course
It’s important to understand throughout your life you will hit dieting roadblocks.  Everybody does, but the difference between successful dieters and everybody else is they don’t let these roadblocks completely derail their diet.  There will be times when you can’t resist dessert or you overindulge on your favorite snack.  This is OK.  The sooner you accept that it happens the sooner you can get back on track.
